The Pops Pizza in Old Ljubljana has once again been ranked among the 50 best pizzerias in Europe. This year, it came in at number 34! When it opened its doors in 2019, it quickly became a reference point for those looking for the best Neapolitan pizza in the city.
The pizzeria is comfortable, with two floors, featuring a chandelier that becomes the centerpiece and a beautiful golden oven, very nice to look at. The style is Neapolitan, certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, with a not too pronounced crust, soft and melt-in-your-mouth, just as it should be. They use sourdough and the pizza is leavened for 48 hours, resulting in a light and digestible crust. In addition to pizzas, the menu includes a variety of starters and a few dishes, as well as a selection of desserts, including the highly recommended Pop’s Tiramisu. Among the pizzas, we recommend trying the Scottata with tomato, fior di latte, spicy salami, and onion. The ingredients used are excellent, including many DOP and IGP products. You will also find a good selection of wines served by the glass and, above all, an excellent selection of cocktails. The service is attentive, prices are average for the city, but with top-quality ingredients.
