The best pizzerias in Europe outside Italy were announced in Madrid, and Ljubljana’s Pop’s Pizza is among them.
The first place in the list of the best European pizzerias outside Italy was won for the second year in a row by London’s Napoli on the Road, run by Neapolitan Michele Pascarella, followed by Baldoria from Madrid, run by another Neapolitan, Ciro Cristian.
Third place is shared by Sartoria Panatieri, run in Barcelona by Rafa Panatieri and Jorge Sastre, and Via Toledo, run in Vienna by Francesco Caló.
The only Slovenian pizzeria on the list is Ljubljana’s Pop’s Pizza, with restaurateur Greg Yurkovich taking 30th place, just like last year.
Which country has the most top-notch pizzerias?
Of the 193 pizzerias included in this year’s European ranking, Spain has the most (31), followed by France (22), England and Switzerland (16 each). Paris leads the way with 16 pizzerias, followed by London (11) and Madrid (9).
As mentioned, there are no Italian pizzerias in this ranking, which is ranked separately, and this year’s ranking will be announced in mid-July.
